  This week was a very chill week since we had a quiz. During the lab, we did a quick activity that involved the timeline of the universe's lifespan starting from the big bang and ending to today. Each group was given an amount of time where they had to find and research specific events that happened. Our team had the last billion years. Group talked Important events that happened like the snowball earth and the formation of humans. During discussion, we only had to take our quiz, but beforehand, we did talk about what was within the quiz and we were allowed to ask any questions we had before we began. During this chapter reading there was an assessment we had to complete. The assessment included questions about the phases of the moon, shadows black holes and information about stars.

  This week in the lab we didn’t really do much. We worked with our table groups in the previous week and over the weekend creating quick five minute presentations about specific topics we were given. During class, everyone presented the different topics and we also talked about different questions we might have. For example, my group’s presentation was about the earth. More specifically we talked about what the earth was like before (when it was first created), during(the evolution of earth), and after( what we see today). During class discussion, we talked about the different topics each group had during the lab. We talked more specifically about black holes space travel formation of the Earth stars. We also talked about the Big Bang and it’s important while looking at alternative theories in place of the Big Bang. We also talked about women’s role within space.   Lab: This week in the lab we talked about the solar system more specifically the planters and where they are within the system.The main activity we did in class was creating our diagrams and examples of the four first planets from the sun. These planets are surrounded by an asteroid belt so they are grouped. Each group was asked to create models that were proportionally correct in size and spatial length so we had to do some math. My group made the planets and sun out of playdough. We made the playdough planets by converting their size to cm and the length between the sun and each plant to meters. Because of this, our planets were so small we had to use sticky notes to keep track of them. The length between the planets was so long we couldn't get them into one picture.  \ During the discussion this week we talked about the two tropics of Earth (cancer and Capricorn). During the lab this week, we began our new section about space. We first took a short quiz, but asked questions like why the faces of the moon, why lunar eclipse occurs, and reasoning behind seasons. In groups, we then began to use models and research our findings behind these reasonings. During the activity, there was a large bright light illuminated the room which represented the sun. Each group was given a globe and a Styrofoam ball representing the moon. Then we had to move the moon around the Earth to see why and how the moon phases occur—after activity with Grant, talking about diseases and how they appear. I found out that the sun's proximity doesn’t affect the seasons the way originally thought. It’s her out though with the sun from there. It’s usually somewhere where I live.
