During the lab we began talking about climate change. We had to watch the movie before the flood which talked about different aspects of climate change and reasons behind why humans are affecting the climate. As groups we researched different ways climate change has affected the Iowa goldfinch. Each group looked at different areas of Iowa and what's affecting the population of goldfinches in that area. We learned about how temperature, weather, and precipitation play a role in the birds' lives. During discussion we had a quiz. 

 

What did you learn?

• I learned about the definitions of climate and weather and how they are different.  

What was most helpful?

• The acronym L.O.W.E.R since it broke down the factors of how different areas are cooler or hotter. 

What do you need more information on?

• How can we (personally) help lessons or slow down the effects of climate change.

What questions/concerns/comments do you have?

• Can humans make a change that can have an actual impact on climate change?

• I wonder how severe the climate will affect different areas of the United states in the years to come.
